Kesler Tran is a photographer based out of Los Angeles and New York specializing in fashion, editorial and beauty. Of the three, one will probably find his beauty work resonating the strongest; it teems from every pore of his images. His eye for light and shape, as complex and trained as it is, seems effortless when one browses through the images on his tumblr. With the sheer amount of content, it's also hard to imagine him ever taking a break. Thankfully, he took one for us.
Well, this is certainly not what I expected to run across today. GQ Spain proposed a film to director Álvaro de la Herrán inspired by the characters of the book "50 Shades of Grey." What results is incredibly NSFW (seriously, it's super sexual), but still quite beautiful. I have to say I'm a huge fan of how it was shot. The lighting is gorgeous. But we have to ask, where does fashion end and porn begin? The line is becoming rather foggy.
To describe Angelo Musco’s conceptual vision as deep would not even begin to scratch the surface to the magnitude of his surreal bodyscapes.
To create his work, hundreds of nude bodies have been photographed and arranged to create his insanely dense bodyscapes. Upon looking further into each photograph, details emerge and reveal how meticulous each human form has been carefully put together to become one object.
Warning: The following interview contains adult language, adult situations and nudity.
Michael Donovan rules. It says so on his website. It also says so on his Tumblr. It says so anywhere you’d find his name. And to be perfectly honest, believe the hype. Michael Donovan does rule. This is why I’m here, in a Lower East Side bar that never left 1982, having a drink and trying to hold a conversation while Asian fetish porn plays on TVs that I’m sure were taken from the dumpster behind a Motel 6.
Salvador Dali was a Spanish surrealist painter, known for his mind bending paintings that border on nightmare and fantasy. So what happens when this creative mind teams up with award winning photographer Philippe Halsman in 1951... amazing creative work. See the post for their NSFW photos and portraits of Dali's mustache.
I have been following the amazing work of boudoir photographer Christa Meola for a couple of years now. Just a quick look at her portfolio and you will agree that her boudoir work is some of the best out there. Recently she posted a lighting diagram for a two light setup she has been using. Christa happens to use a nude model for the lighting setup so heads up.
I'm kind of a huge fan of fantasy novels, and Game of Thrones (along with The Name of the Wind) is probably my favorite modern fantasy epic. I also greatly enjoy the television series on HBO. In this video you can see how the visual effects artists rendered the 3D for the final scene of Game of Thrones Season 1. Please note, this scene does have nudity. Also, SPOILERS.
Jaroslav Monchak has such an incredible eye for finding the beauty in women. His work has a sort of timeless essence to it that draws you in deeper than the surface of the image. To me it creates a state of mind that can only be visually achieved through images like his own. I hope his work inspires you to go out and shoot. Most of his shots are not technical equipment wise and can be achieved with a ff camera and a 85mm,(most of his work appears to be on a 85mm). Just get yourself a model, a concept, and go shoot.
A few days ago my buddy Bryan Bowden called me and said that he was in possession of the currently unreleased Black Magic Cinema Camera. This camera could be the next big thing in videography because it's incredibly cheap ($3000) for what you get (2.5K RAW footage). I personally only got a moment to see the camera but I asked Bryan to write up something for our readers about his very short experience with the camera and release some RAW clips straight from the camera.
Shinichi Maruyama is a fine art photographer based in New York City who specializes in abstract images which feature natural forms captured in a variety of ways. For one of his most recent projects, Shinichi photographed nude dancers using long exposure photography to create some very interesting (and beautiful, to boot) images.
Auckland based photog John Crawford has come up with a really interesting view on nude photography, aerial nudes. John's use of composition and space in this series is what really draws attention to it. It is nude art done in a way that we wouldn't typically expect to see it, and it is quite refreshing to see a new take on such an ancient form of artistic expression. Enjoy!
When asked to come up with some new promo material for the Progressive International Motorcycle Show that was creative, racy, and original, I.D.E.A met the challenge. By teaming up with Trina Merry, a body paint artist, and Juan Moreno, the photographer for the day, the team was able to create the motorcycles by using human bodies.
