Yesterday I visited Virxe do Porto with the family and, almost as an afterthought, decided to bring my camera with me.
Good thing I did.
As the tide retreated, I noticed a small pool left among the pebbles. From the right angle, a faint reflection of the chapel began to appear on its surface — enough to make me stop and start looking for a composition.
Then the sky joined in.
Just before sunset, the clouds filled with texture and slowly caught the evening colour, leaving traces of that light reflected in the little pool alongside the chapel.
An unexpected combination of tide, clouds and light that gave me a completely different way of photographing a place I've visited so many times.
Sometimes the best reason to carry your camera is simply...
