This image was taken during a photoshoot I did for a local roller derby team. We did a couple of more formal group pictures, but I also wanted to make a group photo that was something different than a typical "school class picture". One of the main difficulties was getting everybody in their places and making them stay there until we were ready to shoot. I had to place everybody individually and make sure that everybody was visible for the camera. We also had to come up with different poses. Fortunately the girls were patient and really helpful.

On the technical side of things I had to deal with harsh midday sun. I opted for slight underexposure for retaining highlights and added fill flash to lift shadows. A bit of RAW development gave the final result.
