Howdy and welcome to the Wednesday Rundown. Sorry for the delay in the post this morning. Last night I got the chance to see some of the best lighting I have ever seen. I went and saw the opening of the Radio City Rockettes. The light and venue blew me away before the girls even made it on stage. It is insane how much lighting really affects our eyes and images. Howdy and welcome to the Wednesday Rundown. This week I ran across a pretty cool tool for photographers on the go. I have heard of the possiblity of having a model release on your Iphone, however I never gave it a shot. This week I did some research and downloaded one of the apps. Here is a blog post about two of the apps. http://www.thedigitaltrekker.com/2010/03/mrelease-review/ . I ended up downloading iRelease-Lite, it is free so no complaints and pretty cool so far. If you search model release on the app store you can find these apps. Anyone have one of these apps for another smart phone? Howdy and welcome to the Wednesday Rundown. Tonight I had the chance, with a bunch of fellow fstoppers, to see Chase Jarvis speak and sign his newest book in person. It is pretty cool how Chase gives back to the community of photographers and encourages all of us to stay involved. I had the chance to meet several new people and hope to stay in contact. Howdy and welcome to the Wednesday Rundown. This weekend I made an escape up North to Vermont with Lee and another fstopper / photographer Jon. Nothing like having the open road, a lot of rain, and some great conversations on photography. Yes believe it or not that is what we mostly talk about. Howdy and welcome to the Wednesday Rundown. I have been trying to figure out how many photographers I was going to have to get together to rent some studio space in NYC. A couple days ago we posted a write up on www.studioshare.org. Well I signed up with the free code posted on fstoppers the other day and found some dirt cheap studio space. In fact I found one place in Brooklyn for $130 a day! So watch some videos and get some ideas then go find some cheap space to shoot. contactfstoppers@gmail.com

Hello everyone and welcome to the Wednesday Rundown. I have been playing around with my flash a bit this week and forgot about the sync speed for a second (just a split second). I know of the 1/250 sync speed and understand the basic idea, but do you? We have a great video that goes into detail of how the camera and flash sync. The main purpose I have seen is protection, but after stumbling across some amazing IR images I thought I would try to discover the other options. Hello everyone and welcome to the Wednesday Rundown. This weekend I learned one of my weaknesses, being able to give direction. Wow, this is something I got the chance to learn while shooting a friends engagement shoot. While working as a second shooter the main photographer directs everything and makes it look easy. I finally got the ball rolling a bit and with some more practice I will feel more at ease while helping couples or even just a model strike a pose. Hello everyone and welcome to the Wednesday Rundown. Where has summer gone, where has these beautiful women at the beach I was going to do a photo shoot with go? As reality hits and the days start to shorten I remember my goals to reach this summer and well notice I have fallen short. I have booked some gigs but to really go out and shoot things others have not, well that is one many of us do not achieve. This week I feel like I have found a video or at least a prospective I love.
