A few short years ago, Flickr was unquestionably the largest and most popular image sharing site on the internet. It was clean, fast, easy, and social. In fact, it was one of the first websites to embrace the concept of social media. Flickr was on the cutting edge of the internet, and it was growing fast. But over the past couple of years, as websites like Tumblr, Facebook, 500px, smugmug, Instagram and Imgur have risen to fame and evolved

A couple months ago, we posted images from a series of portraits shot by Tadao Cern that were described as "blow job portraits". Kai and crew over at Digital Rev TV put together a fun video trying to re-create this effect using some interesting tools on a handful of models, while "keeping stimulated" by trying a new technique. Can you keep a straight face while watching this?

Alex Jansen, who is currently on a deployment in Afghanistan, recently created this video showing off the weather and dust sealing capabilities of his Pentax K-5 and K-7 cameras. I know that even though my Canon 1D claims to be 'weather and dust resistant' it would be a cold day in hell before I ever voluntarily did something like this to my camera (and lenses!). Don't believe this is the same image? I didn't either and that's why I created an animated gif to prove it. The Thatcher effect is a phenomenon where it becomes difficult to detect local feature changes in an upside down face. This strange human glitch was named after Margaret Thatcher, whose image this was first tested on. These images were taken by Anuschka Blommers and Niels Schumm for the new Dove Campaign. You'll have to watch it a few times to believe it for yourself.

Check out this amazing photoshoot by Dina Goldstein she titled "In The Dollhouse." Dina spared no expense as her team built set after set to complete this real-life Barbie and Ken series. Just like the last Barbie series we posted, this one is also a little twisted. Apparently you can't go wrong with Barbie series because these images have already gone viral around the web.

Portrait orientation captured on mobile devices. Your Facebook newsfeed is riddled with this horrible phenomenon. You know it's wrong, but you're not quite sure how to tell your social media buddies that they're committing a video faux pas. If you feel apprehensive bringing the subject up in fear of being ridiculed as a camera phone nazi, then look no further. The kind people over at Glove and Boots have you covered with this lighthearted PSA; but be forewarned George Lucas fans... you might want to turn away for this one.

This little clip shows you how little equipment you need to create an eye catching scene. The Theory uses a simple mini projector and an iphone to create a creative high speed police chase. Although this kind of technology has been used for a little more high end commercial output, it's refreshing to see people having fun and doing it well. The great voice of Tom Waits narrates this five-minute documentary about Baldessari and his work. Considered by many to be the godfather of conceptual art, his work goes far beyond photography. We recently interviewed LensRentals and asked them about humorous (or rather, sad) situations in which gear came back totally destroyed or rendered otherwise unusable. Turns out nothing could have prepared anyone at LensRentals for what happened this week in Yellowstone when a bear commandeered a Nikon 600 and D4.

These photos are almost like optical illusions. You won't believe what you're seeing for a while till you look twice. Some of them look downright wrong but thankfully there is a good explanation for each of them! Which ones were your favorite? Take a look and let us know what you think.

Shooting a wedding will wear anyone out and of course we all need food and water to keep going. Make sure that when you do grab something to eat, you don't walk behind someone giving a toast... and being filmed. Also, you may want to wear a shirt with a collar.

The guys over at DigitalRev wanted to test how durable the Canon 7D is, so they put it through some extreme tests to see if the shutter would still work and record images to the CF card. Ice, fire, airsoft guns, flights of stairs, and more. Check out the video to see if the 7D holds up to the beating. You definitely do not want to try this at home! Dean Fleischer-Camp, who brought you 'Marcel The Shell' (together with Jenny Slate), decided to make a funny video showing how ridiculous people look like when posing for a picture. All he did was taking a short video of his friends posing for what they thought is going to be still photos. Genius. Scary how ridiculous we all look when posing for a picture.

It’s Friday, have a laugh. The crew over at The Verge put together this video of a (fake) camera that resembles a Polaroid by instantly producing a printed image out of it’s body. This model, made by Instagram, lets you add you own effects for an even more unique look at your images! I can't wait to buy one of these and start shooting professional looking wedding photos!

Antonio Vicentini recently created this 8-bit gallery of cameras spanning pretty much everything from antique large format cameras through modern DSLRs. It's a cute, semi-retro, nostalgia-inducing piece for anyone who grew up in the 80s or early 90s. What I find most interesting is how many cameras I was able to recognize; though I'm not sure if that means I'm an uber-dork who has spent far too much time in front of old game consoles and camera websites, or I've just got a killer memory. A recent Target advertisement left one of the models sporting a little something extra. You won't believe your eyes when you see this, nor will you believe that somehow, nobody caught the mistake.

Here's a fun Saturday morning activity for you - try your hand at lighting a virtual model in this Virtual Lighting Studio. It's pretty simple, and very addicting. For each light, you'll choose the source - a bare strobe, softbox, or ringlight. Then just decide the power, gel colors, placement and distance.

At long last, the scientific breakthrough many of us have long been waiting for: A pill that we can take to get us out of an editing slump, increase creativity, or help us deal with clients. But beware: side effects may include high blood pressure, insomnia, color blindness, neck pain, and occasional dizziness.

The web is abuzz with comparison articles on which $3000 DSLR camera is the best bang for the buck. Kevin Good with CrisisLab recently did a side by side comparison of the Canon 5D Mark III and the Nikon D800 in several real world tests. His tests include Resolution, Rolling Shutter, High ISO Test, and Durability. Each test was conducted to the highest of standards and perhaps might be the most scientific review I've seen yet. Now off to Craigslist to find me some models!

Randy Gregg has started a Kickstarter campaign to fund the development of a digital camera that is built to look just like a hunting rifle. It's completely non-lethal, and pulling the trigger will store your images, complete with crosshair overlay, onto an SD card. For hunters and law enforcement this might be useful, but something tells me I won't see this in a lineup next to a bunch of DSLRs when shooting public events. You may recall that Rob Ashe and his fellow post gurus who work on the Conan O'Brien Show publicly bashed Final Cut X a while back. They've returned with a new video, proclaiming their love for Adobe Premiere, or as Rob refers to it, Final Cut Pro 8. Final Cut X has had several updates since it's initial release, but is it still lacking? Have you made the switch? Are you cutting home movies in 4K?

If you grew up during the late 1980s through early 1990s, then you can remember the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Using a combination of action figures, about 60 hand-drawn backdrops, and over 4,000 individual images, director Kyle Roberts pays tribute to this classic cartoon with a stop motion animation. This is one you won't want to miss.

With a lot of the recent Photoshop screwups we've all seen in the media, people have been asking us what some of the before shots look like and what post processing goes into a cover photo. We'll, here it is.

In this hilarious spoof on Dell Inspiron, European photographer, Clayton Sotos, begins explaining that his father bought him a camera out of the blue and he’s been taking photos ever since. From there he blabbers on about how using Dell products helps him to communicate his passion or whatever (00:001-02:00). Then… it gets weird. I won’t spoil the joke—you just have to watch the video. (And no, Dell didn’t actually produce it.) Enjoy!
