On a recent trip to Southern Africa we were traveling from Namibia to South Africa and overnighted one night at a remote B&B about 45 km west of Seeheim, Namibia.
The photo was taken at around 9:00 PM looking southeast from our little chalet a day after the New Moon. The night sky is exceptionally dark in the Namib Desert, but even here there is some light pollution, this time from the settlement at Seeheim.
