Originally from Columbia, Andres Hernandez has quickly become one of the top fashion photographers in Miami. In his most recent video, Andres collaborates with Extyn Italy for their spring 2010 collection. There are some nice behind the scenes moments in this video but it does lack a little on the technical aspect.

Michael from Pixelcatcher.com has come up with an easy way to capture high speed images with a simple flash setup. While this method works great when popping waterballoons, you could also use it to capture anything that has a dramatic impact. After posting yesterday's video on Alexx shooting triathlete Chris Lieto for the cover of Outside Magazine I was sent this awesome video of Alexx working on a new article for the Apple ipad. Hopefully after watching these two videos it should be clear where advertising is headed in the next 10 years with products like the ipad and creative minds like Alexx Henry.

James Karinejad is a commercial product photographer out of Edgware, North London and his work is probably best described as clean yet imaginative. Some of the clients he has worked with have included Dolce & Gabbana, Pizza Hut, Clarins, and Addison Lee. It's also interesting to note that James made the transition to stills by first working in video.
Before Fstoppers.com launched I was in NYC at a scuba store preparing for my trip to Belize. I was talking to the store owner about underwater photography and Christopher Lynch walked up and joined in the conversation. Chris explained that he was a professional commercial shooter and after some great advice he gave me his card and went on his way.
Simon Carter is a professional rock climbing photographer. I have to admit, after watching this video I'm a little jealous of Simon being out in the middle of nature shooting these amazing climbers. Most of us will probably never tackle anything like this but it is exciting to see artists like Simon sharing his talent in the video format. It's also nice to see more Nikon D3s footage.

One video that crossed our desk the other day was by Los Angeles photographer Kesler Tran. His use of pretty simple lighting in a very remote location really creates for some great photographs. A lot of you will really appreciate the extra effort Kesler takes to build a simple two sided mini studio wall out in the desert.

This week I thought I'd mix up the Fstoppers format a bit to introduce you to a good friend of mine and an amazing photographer Brownie Harris. Brownie is based out of Wilmington, North Carolina and shoots all sorts of projects all over the country. I think I was first introduced to his work through the praise of some of his previous clients that were based here in Charleston.
I have been following Dave Hill for years now and recently he was hired to shoot a picture series for the March issue of Digital SLR Photography Magazine. This online film by director Adam Berg and Stink Digital (http://www.stinkdigital.tv/) took home the Cannes Lions 2009 Film Grand Prix, and boy did it deserve it! Developed to highlight Philips new 21:9 cinema proportion television, the film consists of one long tracking shot a la Goodfellas (albeit with more explosions and clowns). So here's the story; Patrick and I had the idea for FStoppers and we knew that we had to create a bunch of videos to get others excited about creating their own. We had some free time and some money in the bank after a solid wedding season so we decided to go to Vegas. We did not do a good enough job planning anything.
I am not a product photographer but I really enjoy the work that goes into creating a great product shot. In this video I attempt to shoot a Rolex Daytona watch. I am not a product photographer so I had to figure out a lot of this as I was shooting. If you have any helpful comments leave them below.
I always use to pride myself on being able to pick out CGI in movies and TV shows... 90% of these shots are impossible to spot though.
For the past year I have been trying to stay away from TV and I honestly can say that I had never seen this commercial before I watched this video. If I had I would have surely guessed that it was all computer graphics... I could not have been more wrong.
