Nikon has announced the Z 5, its new, full-frame, entry-level mirrorless camera. It will be available to purchase from August for just $1,399, making it $400 cheaper than the Z 6. 

A few days ago, Fstoppers’ Alex Cooke asked if the camera world would ever see a Canon 5D Mark V. According to the latest rumor, the answer is no, almost certainly not. 

Vogue Magazine has faced criticism over its recent August cover portraying American gymnast Simone Biles, which was shot by Annie Leibovitz, with the public calling for more diversity behind the scenes to better portray dark skin tones.

Nikon's mirrorless lineup is about to expand a bit, as rumors have it that next week, the company will be announcing at least one new camera and lens and possibly even more. Both the lens and body are expected to be quite affordable.

Canon has just announced their brand new mirrorless cameras, the EOS R5 and EOS R6 (Thursday, July 9th, 2020), and the R5 especially seems to blur the lines between mirrorless and cinema quality thanks to its huge specs. 

Pegged to be the mirrorless equivalent of the 6D Mark II, the EOS R6 could fall at the first hurdle when it comes to stills resolution and extra features that is simply lacks.  Fortunately for Canon, they’ve got a wide range of mirrorless cameras now, but the EOS RP still takes the crown for the most affordable full frame mirrorless camera.

The new EOS R6 is the more affordable little sister to the bigger, more expensive EOS R5, and though it lacks a few of its sibling’s features, it more than packs a punch.  A step up from the EOS R, the EOS R6 takes its heritage and runs with it.

After news came last week from Canon that it's officially dropped the terms "master" and "slave," so too has Nikon. In fact, if you thought Canon was ahead of the curve by dropping the terms three years ago, you're going to be shocked to find out when Nikon dropped them. 

A small company in France has announced the launch of a compact rangefinder camera — the Pixii — that, rather than having an LCD on the back, uses Bluetooth to instantly send jpegs to your phone, with the option to then pull across a raw file for closer editing. 

It’s being reported that Nikon is planning to release updated versions of its two mirrorless full-frame cameras later this year, offering small but welcome improvements such as a better battery and dual card slots. 

Sony has announced its most expensive G Master zoom lens to date, the FE 12-24mm f/2.8. 

For $3,000, the new 12-24mm f/2.8 GM surpasses the previous 12-24mm f/4 G in just about every way. This is now the widest full-frame f/2.8 zoom lens on the market, but it goes deeper than the field of view and aperture.

The EOS R5 is probably the most eagerly anticipated camera that Canon has ever announced. The initial rumors were mostly scoffed at and described as nonsense, and I assumed the same. As more and more information gets released about this camera, concerns about its performance and specifications continue to be dispelled.  

Images have appeared of the RF 600mm and 800mm f/11 prime lenses that Canon is set to announce alongside a raft of other products on July 9. Some specifications have also started to emerge.
