Had a recent business trip to St. Louis. Which meant I would have some time for some photography. I made sure to visit the arch.
This month's challenge is very broad, with an emphasis on the dramatic contrast between light and shade.
Walking around just keeping my eyes open. First one was in the Marais, second was the "Bourse" and the third was in the 14th arrondissement.
The pride of Delhi shining in a typical blue hour. Lotus temple, what else ?
These are from a decommissioned power plant along the river that is now a hotel. It was a foggy night, so I used a long exposure to create the smoke effect from the spotlights.
We have a resident pair of eagles on our small lake outside Kirkwood Mo. I’ve been following them for a few years as they have raised three broods of chicks.
Still working on my personal photo book but wanted to post this. Unfortunately, I took this at f8 so the water reflections have little star patterns which gives it an overall hazy look.
During my last outing to capture the willow tree image (posted earlier) I tried a number of ICM motions just to see what resulted and may be refined in future shots.

Not posted in sometime so thought I'd put up a few pics from my recent trips to Madeira, North Wales and Lofoten. Constructive comments welcome.
I was experimenting with the zoom burst technique on the birdhouse in our garden ...
This month's challenge is quite simple. Following a recent lull in activity I'd like members to view March as a chance to re-engage.
The challenge is as following.
A black and white photograph of a winter sunrise with rolling clouds obscuring a round sun, casting a soft glow across the edges.
Poster for a dance company's new piece, Lear. We wanted some cold, dark, rainy look with a heavy, broken expression.
I have a little down time on my travels and I occasionally think of this group when I'm shooting.

I'm aiming to become good in photographing birds in flight.. but my attempts do not yet deliver. I have a couple 'almost' but not quite, so I decided to blend them into 1 image.
I Was hoping to shoot the sunset at the Bodie Island Lighthouse.
Just after a recent winter storm, I went out into the mountains in search of some winter scenes to photograph.
Just to let you know that I have updated my website blog entries that may be of interest to some.
Trying to show something different each time.

I have this entry level APS-C camera and a lens that is not super bright, resulting in lots of noise when conditions are not ideal.
Revisiting recent reflection posts reminded me of some past shots where I had shot into shop windows in an attempt to create an interesting composition between the interior and window reflections..
One of my favorite activities is walking around new places just looking for anything interesting.
The surname name Brown is not one that can be considered rare, and as you might expect there are many Alan Brown's in the world. Even within photography, a search will yield many results.
I have planned to take a winter picture of a local Willow for some time now.
