The other day I wandered around the very dry wetlands in the Central Perkiomen Park behind my house with no particular intent.
After 8 ratings (close to 4) this photo was rated 2. Which is okay, but unfortunately no feedback was provided. I would like to improve and therefore any feedback is very welcome.
Hi everyone,
I had someone describe my photos as "off-piste" and not being a skier, I used Google to enlighten myself. I like it.
Whilst chatting to my contact at the Westbridge Camera Club she (Donna) the discussion of flatbed scanner photography came up.

Savannah just signed with a modeling agency. She wanted to further develop her portfolio so she reach out for a shoot. She is a great "ginger"! She's got red hair and lots of freckles.

For a while I have the feeling when I upload a file to the site the image posted on the website seems to be a bit darker and a bit more saturated.
6 - "Portrait of a Landscape Photographer" using the Drostre Effect. The composition was actually a challenge, but I finally found an angle that I liked the shadows.
This effect was done using masking layer in Photoshop. This 7 year old video below explains how to do it and also provides the Torn Paper image to use.
Some people will photography ANYTHING!
Any guesses of what three items are being photographed?
Hint: DVD, Kosher Salt and (?)
On social media I am constantly flooded by Selfies, so I thought I would try something different than the In-Your-Face-With-My-Face style of selfie.
Just thought I'd add this as a latecomer now that both October and Fall foliage are in the rearview mirror.
On to Winter.........
I love the kind of wild jungle like forests where everything is green and live is everywhere.
This month's challenge offers something a little different. We all (hopefully) grow as time goes by, both in ability and possibly a change in artistic direction.
Peak fall colors in central North Carolina. View from atop Occoneechee Mountain in Hillsborough, North Carolina.
Back in April 2022 I posted the first two images below showing the setup and the results of shooting through the viewfinder on a Kodak Brownie Target Six-20.
Most of the area around where I inhabit are Douglas Fir and rarely change colors, there are a few dispersed deciduous in home landscapes, so that means a Road Trip!
ANOTHER update (hopefully LAST!)
As I live quite countryside with a high grade of agricultural usage of the area I can find often pig stables outside of villages. On the fields around farmers make the food for them.
Last nights super moon (Oct 17 2024) as seen from the Boylan Street Bridge in Raleigh, North Carolina. Shot with the Sigma 150-600 and a Sony a7iii
I have been shooting this scene occasionally for more than thirty years in different seasons and weather. When we moved here, it was wide open.
I recently saw some similar ICM or abstract photos of birds flying (that are much better than this one) and it reminded me I might have some from a few years ago where I was experimenting with this
.. through the clouds
the goal was to make the sun appear very large..
Feedback is appreciated
Sharing a photo I took years ago which I still love. Will share more once I go on walkabout when things get really colorful!
I just want to make others aware of a new blog entry I have posted. This includes a video from the 'Photographic Eye' and deals with how to deal with negativity.
With foliage season upon us in the Northern Hemisphere and Spring in the South, how can this month's challenge NOT revolve around foliage?
Experimental I've never tried the "Droste effect" before so I thought I would keep it simple and limit it to 8 layers.
