I was visiting a viewpoint in the Columbia River George Scenic Corridor with the intention of photographing Light Trails.
As I sit here amidst a heavy rainstorm, I thought I'd add some more pics I took at the beach recently.
Sunday afternoon was the annual Collegeville Auto Show. They close off Main Street from 3rd street all the way past Ursinus College for most of the day. Trophies are handed out. Bands play.
I've really had fun exploring our local creeks after the sun comes out following a deep freeze. Ice next to moving water creates amazing designs and forms.
Certainly not the prettiest images I’ve ever taken but they are dramatic and true to life. I’ve taken macro images for some years and have never taken images such as these.
I've lived in the desert and in the cold north. So for weather extremes, I thought a different spin might be temperature extremes.
I'm still messing around with multiple images, although I'm starting to get the feeling that the technique is overpowering the content.

Okay, not so much "Storm"...it's seems when there is a storm I am usually IN the storm and it's pouring down cold, cold rain.

This is a seed pod of a Sacred Datura plant. All shape, texture and contrast. Hoping the composition works and the image is interesting.

I just spent a few days away visiting relatives and a scorching beach in Maine. Not one to sit around I grabbed my trusty camera and set out to practice some long exposure shots.

Yesterday Harry and I did our usual rounds of the neighborhood a bit early as we saw a report that a thunderstorm was coming. The first image was done about a third of the way.
I visited the Steens Mountains area of Oregon and the Alvord Desert for a bit of camera fun.
In viewing Joe Svelnys' post Motion: Butterflies it reminded me that I captured the same theme last week while hiking the Steens Mountain Wilderness Area in Oregon.
Not sure how I feel about this one yet. I think it's decent but I'm sure there's room for improvement.
My work is inspired by Renaissance old master paintings so often my lighting and editing style will reflect that look.
