Happy New Year all!.
I thought I would welcome in 2023 with a splash of colour.
As those of us in the northern hemisphere head into winter, I think this the ideal time to return to one of the core group genres - that being minimalism.
These two images were shot from the same position at the back of my yard at more or less the same time of day Thursday and today.
Hi guys! I'm really excited to be back on Fstoppers after taking a break to let my schedule level out. I'm going to be trying to go through and catch up on some work that I've missed!
The year is coming to an end and here I leave my photographic TOP 9 for you.
Which one is your favorite? Tell me in the comments! 😁
I decided to try something I have never seen before with pinhole photography. It doesn't mean it hasn't been tried before....I just haven't seen any examples of it.
Though the sea waves were quite rough, the Sun rose with a peaceful composure, which gave me a sense of serene happy feeling.
I did not think much of this image when I first reviewed it, but I did a few minor edits and posted it anyway...
Is it me? I don't see any postings except those in answer to my own postings on any Fstoppers group I follow since before Halloween. Is nobody posting anything?
Took a walk from Caesar's Palace to Resorts World in about 45 minutes and took these shots for this group.
We have had this whale for about 30 years and I see it almost every day when I walk into my (our) office.
Hum. I wonder if I can mimic an underwater photo.
As I haven't had much chance lately to shoot for myself, I have been going through some of my older photos lately and giving them a new life.
I don't regularly shoot headshots, so I thought I'd post this here for a bit of constructive criticism.
As we approach Christmas and it gets dark earlier, I've been shooting illuminated decorations since their lights are just about the only thing I can see after dark when Harry and I take our daily c
I was wanting to take these two outside in an area where the dirt is smoothed out and is used for RC cars.
It's been a long time since I've shot this one At least 15 years. So I decided to have another go at it the other night. I had guiding issues that caused me to dump half my images.
I got much better results cutting out a square in the center and taping aluminum foil.
Does anyone have experience making a pinhole lens for a DSLR?
I have watched a few videos and the concept seems straightforward. But that's where it ends.
Easy enough to execute. Just place a glass object on a Tablet that is displaying an light pattern
I forgot about some photos I took so long ago now. I think it was at the Red Hill Cinder Cone on the southeastern end of the Sierra Nevada just off of rte 395 in CA.
It's been really quiet here lately. Not just her, but every Fstoppers group I follow. Maybe it's me.
Just to keep Marcus' minimal theme going, this is a shot I took over the summer. I quite like the stark contrast between red and gray, the natural against the fabricated.
Going for a minimalist vibe...sparrow kissed by the early morning sun. Constructive criticism would be appreciated.
I just photographed a local starbucks and would love some tips to improve my composition and edits.
I cannot be sure if I got this half-baked idea from the Cooking Lite magazine or not.
Light Casserole
The park service volunteer (do they still do this? I don't think so.) is showing the name of my cousin, William L Owen, Jr., on the Vietnam memorial in Washington, DC in 1982.
I wanted a light-weight, travel video/snapshot camera so I got an a6000 with the standard, 16-50 kit lens - after extensive YT research.
I have seen images of this waterfall for years. I finally was able to get out and photograph it. I love the old mill and the water with the hint of color in the changing leaves.
I was quite happy with this shot. I shot this handheld, with my Zeiss. I love the lens because it gives me shots like this, but she is a harsh mistress.
